The Monthly Dose

March 2026

Insights, advocacy, and updates from NBPAS

From the NBPAS Desk

Updates to Your Physician Portal

We know your time is valuable. Maintaining your certification shouldn't feel complicated or time-consuming.

The goal is simple: make this process as easy and efficient as it should be.

Over the past few months, we've made several updates to improve the physician experience, including:

  • Real-time support when questions come up
  • An expedited review pathway (in many cases under 48 hours)
  • A more streamlined, user-friendly dashboard

All designed to respect your time and remove unnecessary friction.

Improved Dashboard + Text Reminders

We've redesigned the Physician Dashboard to make it easier to stay on top of your certification, and added text reminders to help you stay ahead of key deadlines.

In the dashboard, you can now:

  • View your certification status at a glance
  • Track CME progress in one place
  • Quickly see any next steps

You can also opt in to receive text reminders when it's time to renew. It's a simple way to stay on track without having to keep tabs on deadlines yourself.

Together, these updates are designed to keep everything clear, simple, and on your schedule—so you can stay focused on practicing medicine.

Real-Time Support, When You Need It

We've introduced a live chat feature that connects you directly with the NBPAS team while you're on the site.

Have a quick question?
Need help navigating a step?

You can now get answers immediately, without having to stop what you're doing or follow up later.

Hospital Acceptance

New Accepting Hospitals Added!

We're excited to welcome Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL and TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY to the growing number of hospitals accepting NBPAS certification.

Each new hospital reflects continued progress toward expanding recognition of NBPAS board certification and helps create more opportunities for physicians nationwide.

Physicians Corner

"Why More Doctors Are Rethinking the Recertification Monopoly"

We continue to be encouraged by the number of physicians using the power of their pen to elevate this conversation and share their firsthand experiences with re-certification and the realities of clinical practice. It takes time and intention to speak up, and it's meaningful to see more physicians willing to do just that.

A recent article by Dr. Yoon Hang Kim highlights what many physicians across the country are feeling. There is a shift happening in medicine as more physicians begin to question whether the current Maintenance of Certification system reflects meaningful, relevant learning or simply adds burden without value.

This willingness to speak openly, challenge the status quo, and advocate for change is what drives progress, and we are grateful to physicians like Dr. Kim and so many others who are helping move this conversation forward.
